Jared Joseph Leto (born December 26, 1971) is an American actor, director, producer, musician, and occasional model. Leto has appeared in both big budget Hollywood films and smaller projects from independent producers and art houses. He rose to prominence for playing Jordan Catalano in the teenage drama My So-Called Life (1994). He later made his film debut in How to Make an American Quilt (1995) and received first notable critical praise for his performance in Prefontaine (1997). Leto played supporting roles in The Thin Red Line (1998) and Girl, Interrupted (1999), as well as the lead role in the horror film Urban Legend (1998), and earned critical acclaim after portraying heroin addict Harry Goldfarb in Darren Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream (2000). He has worked with director David Fincher in Fight Club (1999) and Panic Room (2002). Since the 2000s, Leto has been nominated for awards for his work in such films as American Psycho (2000), Highway (2002), Lord of War (2005), Lonely Hearts (2006), Chapter 27 (2007), and Mr. Nobody (2009).

Edvard Hagerup Grieg /ˈɛdʋɑɖ ˈhɑːgəɾʉːp gɾiːg/ (15 June 1843 – 4 September 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is best known for his Piano Concerto in A minor, for his incidental music to Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt (which includes Morning Mood and In the Hall of the Mountain King), and for his collection of piano miniatures Lyric Pieces.
Edvard Hagerup Grieg was born in Bergen, Norway on 15 June 1843. His parents were Alexander Grieg (1806–1875), a merchant and vice consul in Bergen, and Gesine Judithe Hagerup (1814–1875), a music teacher and daughter of Edvard Hagerup. The family name, originally spelled Greig, has Scottish origins. After the Battle of Culloden in 1746, Grieg's great-grandfather traveled widely, settling in Norway about 1770, and establishing business interests in Bergen.
Edvard Grieg was raised in a musical area. His mother was his first piano teacher and taught him to play at the age of 6. Grieg studied in several schools,[clarification needed] including Tank's School. He often brought in samples of his music to class.[citation needed]

Rumors have been swirling that Leto is going method for the role, staying in character while he’s on the set and keeping his distance from the rest of the cast, and the latest revelation to come from Suicide Squad is Leto’s odd choice of gift to fellow cast member Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn.
Adam Beach, who plays the character Slipknot in the film, recently revealed to E! News that in an effort to show his co-stars that he’s putting in the work necessary to get into character but not necessarily alongside his co-stars, Leto sent eccentric gifts to his fellow cast members, including a live rat that he sent to Robbie.
Actress Cara Delevigne showed off the rat—which they named “Splinter”—on Instagram, and when Steve recently spoke with Jai Courtney at the press day for Terminator Genisys, the actor revealed that the rat has a new, unlikely, and very well-known owner:

LOS ANGELES (March 4, 2014) -- At a live multi-media press conference from MILK Studios in Los Angeles, Chester Bennington and Mike Shinoda of LINKIN PARK and Jared Leto of THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS announced they will join forces this summer for The Carnivores Tour, with special guest AFI.
Fans were able to watch and participate in the hi-tech conference in real-time, through VyRT, an interactive social media theater that enables live events to be broadcast in high quality worldwide.
The Carnivores Tour, sponsored in-part by Infinity and promoted by Live Nation, will kick-off on Friday, August 8 in West Palm Beach at the Cruzan Amphitheatre and will hit 25 cities in every part of the country and will include three shows in Canada. The three multi-platinum bands will bring an unforgettable night of music featuring some of the biggest rock & alternative radio hits from the past decade.
In explaining the unusual name of the tour, co-lead singer of LINKIN PARK Mike Shinoda says, "Carnivores is a metaphor that is meant to convey an appetite for something visceral and substantive, and I feel that's exactly the hunger this tour will feed." Jared Leto of THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS adds, "We are so excited to join our friends on this epic journey. It's going to be the adventure of a lifetime."
Tickets for The Carnivores Tour will go on sale beginning Friday, March 7 at www.livenation.com and the band's websites. Jared Leto opens up about becoming The Joker and we’ve got the details right now on Clevver News Feed! Jared Leto finally shares some details about his version of “The Joker” in next year’s Suicide Squad. If you’ve been following the process of bringing DC Comics’ Suicide Squad to the big screen, you’re probably aware that Jared Leto stayed in-character throughout production to the sometimes torment of his co-stars. Will Smith previously stated that he has actually never met Leto despite having worked with him on the film for six months saying he’s only ever spoken to him while shooting as their characters with not a single word uttered off-camera. Leto also reportedly sent various Joker inspired gifts to his co-stars with Margot Robbie, who plays “Harley Quinn” in the film, receiving a love letter from Leto’s “Joker” along with a box containing a live rat. Jim Parrack, who plays Joker’s henchman “Johnny Frost” in the film, received calls from Leto throughout the day ordering him to do random tasks like spray paint roses black and fill a backpack with nine inch nails. In a new interview with Empire Magazine, Leto revealed that he quote, “took a pretty deep dive” into the character, but says he couldn’t imagine doing it another way since it was such a unique opportunity. Though he said the experience was very fun, he also admitted it was painful, like giving birth out of a certain area of his anatomy we won’t repeat. Leto revealed that he listened to 1920’s gospel music and read books about shamans to help get him into character saying quote, “I always get the sense that The Joker may be much older than people think. It's something different. If you don't break rules, you're not going to strike new ground. I think I'll be cooling down for the rest of my life." Also speaking with Empire, Suicide Squad producer Charles Roven revealed that The Joker’s wardrobe was inspired by Mexican cartels and described him as a very successful, social and smart businessman who also happens to be a sociopath while director David Ayer called him the “third rail of comic book movies” explaining there’s a power to the character and they’ve managed to cook up something not only transcendent, but also scary. Jared Leto opens up about becoming The Joker and we’ve got the details right now on Clevver News Feed! Jared Leto finally shares some details about his version of “The Joker” in next year’s Suicide Squad.
